Role Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiological procedures using various imaging equipment to aid in disease and injury diagnosis.
Responsibilities include:
- Acquiring and processing patient exams per protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Reviewing cases with radiologists and patient history to ensure correct exams.
- Administering IV, oral, or rectal contrast and responding to adverse reactions.
- Screening for pregnancy and reviewing radiology orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensuring high-quality imaging by assessing positioning and technical factors.
- Transferring images to PACS, maintaining equipment, and managing supplies.
- Reporting safety events and assisting in staff or student instruction.
- Performing cross-trained modality duties and stepping into leadership roles if needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), Radiography (ARRT), Radiologic Technologist License (IEMA).
- Educational background in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Ability to critique imaging quality, maintain safety, and communicate effectively.
- Flexibility to perform duties across modalities and support department needs.
