Role: The CRNA provides anesthesia services in various surgical settings, including general, orthopedic, urology, plastics, GYN, podiatry, dental, ENT, and ophthalmology, as well as outpatient procedures like endoscopy and IR. They work independently to deliver anesthesia, including labor epidurals.
Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, administer pre-op medications, and address patient concerns.
- Verify patient identity and procedure details, assess physical status.
- Ensure all anesthesia and monitoring equipment is operational and stocked with emergency drugs.
- Establish and secure intravenous/intra-arterial lines, apply monitors as needed.
- Induce and maintain anesthesia using various techniques, monitor drug effects, and adjust dosages for patient safety.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in nursing and certification from an approved Nurse Anesthetist program.
- Certification and recertification by the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
- Licensed RN with ACLS, PALS, and BCLS certifications.
- Relevant professional experience as a CRNA is required.
